Steam Pau
Ingredient :
BAKERS' CHOICE PAU FLOUR 500 gm
Water 240-250 gm
Instant Yeast 8 gm
Sugar 50 gm
Shortening / Margarine 50gm
Baking Powder 8 gm
Filling Optional
Method :
- Mix BAKERS' CHOICE PAU FLOUR, instant yeast, sugar and baking powder in a mixing bowl.
- Pour in water and mix with slow speed for 1 min.
- Add in shortening, mix with fast speed until dough smooth.
- Take out the dough from mixing bowl and rest for about 15 minutes.
- Flatten the dough into thin sheet and roll into long cylinder shape.
- Cut the dough into small pieces 3 to 5 cm wide, about 60g each. Make into round or pau shape and place it on paper or roll into flat sheet and wrap in filling (optional) and make into pau shape.
- Leave it to rise for 30 to 45 minutes in a warm place.
- Steam for about 15 minutes.
